Product Care

General Cleaning

All materials can accumulate dust and dirt over time, so routine cleaning is essential to maintain the appearance and longevity of your item. Treat any spot stains promptly, and always dry thoroughly after cleaning to avoid residue buildup.

For lighting, Please ensure the power is turned off before cleaning any electrical products.

Glass

For clear or coloured glass, gently wipe using a dry soft cotton cloth or one dampened with water. If the shade is removable, you may wash it in warm water. Frosted or etched glass should only be cleaned with a duster or soft cloth. Avoid harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage the finish.

Wood

Timber is a natural material that reacts to its surrounding environment. To preserve its integrity, we recommend keeping it away from liquids, direct heat, extreme temperature changes, and high humidity. Clean wooden surfaces with a soft cloth, either dry or dampened with warm water. Always follow the grain of the wood. For deeper cleaning, use a wood-specific cleaner. Do not use harsh or abrasive products that may damage the wood's surface.

Fabric

To keep fabric looking its best, clean regularly with a feather duster, soft cloth, or gentle vacuum. For stains, use a small amount of diluted gentle fabric detergent applied with a microfiber cloth. Wipe clean and dry thoroughly. Avoid excessive rubbing to prevent damage.

Acrylic

Wipe down with a soft cotton cloth to remove surface dust. Dust regularly and avoid placing in direct sunlights, use a soft microfibre cloth to absorb liquids immediately and choose cleaning products wisely, avoiding abrasive, caustic cleaners or polishes on the surface.

Brass & Copper

Brass naturally develops a patina over time due to environmental exposure. While this adds character, it can be polished using a dedicated brass cleaner if preferred. For everyday cleaning, a dry, soft cotton cloth is ideal. Avoid detergents, as they can harm the surface.

Marble

Marble is a natural material that adds elegance and timeless appeal to any space. To maintain its beauty, clean regularly with a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using acidic substances like vinegar, lemon, or harsh detergents, as these can etch or dull the surface. Always dry the marble thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots or stains. For deeper maintenance, a stone-safe sealer can be applied periodically to help protect against staining and moisture absorption.

Travertine

Travertine is a naturally porous stone known for its rich texture and earthy elegance. To keep it looking its best, clean gently with a soft cloth and a pH-neutral, non-abrasive cleaner diluted in warm water. Avoid acidic or harsh cleaning agents, as they can damage the surface and affect the stone’s finish. Because of its porous nature, travertine can absorb liquids easily—so spills should be wiped up promptly to prevent staining. Sealing the surface regularly with a stone-safe sealant is highly recommended to protect it from moisture, dirt, and everyday wear.

Powder-Coated Finishes

Powder-coated surfaces are resilient and usually require minimal upkeep. To clean, wipe with a soft cotton cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild detergent and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the coating.

Plated Finishes

To prevent discolouration, clean regularly with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry thoroughly after cleaning. Harsh solvents and abrasive materials should be avoided, as they may degrade the finish.

Leather

Leather is a natural material known for its unique variations in colour and markings. Over time, it may soften and stretch slightly with use. To maintain its appearance, we recommend regularly wiping it with a clean, slightly damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Keep leather items out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources to prevent fading and drying.

Ceramic & Stoneware

Use a soft cotton cloth or one slightly moistened with lukewarm water for light cleaning. Glazed surfaces may be wiped down with a mild detergent. Dry well to avoid residue. Avoid using strong chemicals or abrasive cloths that could damage the surface.

Rug Care & Guidelines

Our rugs are delivered in a compact roll or folded for safe and secure transport. To get the most out of your new rug and ensure its longevity, we recommend following these simple steps before and after use.

BEFORE USE

Flatten & Flip

Upon unrolling your rug, place it face-down on a clean surface for at least 72 hours. This allows any creases or folds from shipping to relax naturally. To help stubborn edges settle, place a few heavy books or flat furniture pieces on the corners. If this step is skipped, temporary folds can become permanent creases that may not be reversible.

Some rug sizes may need to be folded for shipping and could appear creased upon opening. After unpacking, please allow the rug some time to return to its original shape. The creases will gradually disappear over time and can also be smoothed out with gentle ironing.

Minimising "New Rug" Odour

A new rug may release a slight odour due to off-gassing from synthetic materials like polyester or adhesives. This is known as VOC (volatile organic compounds) release and is generally harmless.
To reduce the scent quickly:

  • Keep your space well ventilated for 24–48 hours by opening windows and doors.

  • If the smell lingers, sprinkle baking soda over the rug and leave it for 24 hours before vacuuming. For added effect, place an open jar of cleaning vinegar in the room. Repeat as needed.

GENERAL CARE

Regular vacuuming helps maintain your rug’s appearance and extends its lifespan. For a deeper clean, we recommend professional steam cleaning every 12 months.

Note on Wool Blend & Jute Rugs

Our rugs are handwoven by skilled artisans, resulting in edges that are uniquely shaped and slightly uneven. These gentle variations in weave and pile are part of the rug’s charm and reflect its handmade nature—not flaws, but features that bring character and warmth to your home.
